Knife Sharpening and care
At Q-Sharpening we will inspect the blade condition by looking for nicks or flats spots.
We will recondition your knife by removing all small or large nicks in the blade, repairing damages of the tip and straightening of the knife edge. Sharpening may involve only fine-tuning the edge, but may require much more work to restore the edge holding the correct grind angle.
For your restaurant, hotel or domestic – we do all knives. We are using only professional water cooled sharpening system and top quality polishing materials to restore the cutting edge and to place the bevel at the right angle according your specific cutting needs.
At Q-Sharpening we will service your scissors to the factory specifications. This includes: inspection, disassembling, reinstalling and polishing of the ride line and the cutting edge, replacement of the screw, washer, bumper, rings if needed, securing the finger rest, re-balancing, oiling and testing.
Tips and Tricks
Sending sharp objects by Royal Mail
Knifes, scissors and other sharp objects are allowed in the mail, with restrictions and packaging guidelines below:
– Wrap heavy cardboard around sharp edges and points, strong enough to ensure that the contents do not pierce the outer packaging. Tape or put a rubber band around the scissors tip.
– Wrap each item with cushioning material.
– Place in a suitable outer container such as a padded envelope.
– The sender’s name and return address must be clearly visible on the outer packaging.
How to keep your knife sharp?
– cut only materials appropriate for the knife: If it is a chefs knife, cut through food only.
– cut on a non-dulling surface like a wooden or nylon cutting board
– keep kitchen knives in a storage block or on a magnet
– maintain the edge: use your honing steel regularly
– sharpen regularly
