Lockdown update

We are not charging for the sharpening services during the lockdown

We at Q-Sharpening are donating our sharpening services to support our local community, charity kitchens, hospitals, surgeries, PPE manufacturers and general public from 6th April till 31st May 2020.
As I am on furlough leave from my main job as optical technician from 6th April till 31 May 2020 or until I am called to return to work, I’ve decided to donate our services as a voluntary support to the community during that time.
Everyone can have their cutting tools sharpened. Normally we are charging for our services – for example £0.50 per inch for knives sharpening or £13 for a pair of hairdresser’s scissors or £4 per chisel, etc.
We are not charging for our services during the lockdown. To cover our expenses for equipment and consumables used (grinding wheels, sharpening stones, polishing compounds, sanding belts and paper etc.) there is a fee of £1 per item. We do not accept cash payments so where is necessary we will issue an invoice for bank transfer.  For the items returned by post – the return postal expenses will be charged at cost – Royal Mail 2nd class.
